# Machines

> The Browlix worker runs browsers on your Windows and Ubuntu machines and takes commands from your workspace.

A **machine** is a Windows or Ubuntu computer you own or rent that runs the Browlix worker. The worker opens profiles, enforces their settings, uploads their data and runs automation; your workspace only sends it commands.

## Pairing

1. In the web app open **Machines → Pair a machine** and copy the one-time code.
2. [Download](https://browlix.com/en/download) the worker for the machine's system and verify its SHA-256.
3. Run the install command shown in the pairing dialog. The worker registers itself as a service and appears in `devices.list`.

The Windows build is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn on first run. Updates are still verified against the Browlix release signature before they are applied.

## What `devices.list` tells you

- whether the machine is online (how fresh its last heartbeat is),
- its operating system and worker version,
- its health and how many more sessions it can open,
- whether the [AdsPower-compatible Local API](https://browlix.com/en/docs/adspower-api) is on.

## Capacity

A machine opens as many sessions as its configured capacity allows. When it is full, or offline, `sessions.start` on it is refused with a typed error; choose another machine. Workspace-wide limits, when set, are reported as `QUOTA_EXCEEDED`.

## Storage

`devices.storage.move` moves every profile folder of a machine to another absolute folder (worker 0.9.5 or later). It is refused while a browser runs, copies or renames file by file, verifies, then switches.
